About The Pink Mixing Bowl
Hi there! My name is Amanda and I am the sole cookie artist for The Pink Mixing Bowl. I'm a native Texan, graduate of Texas A&M University, former Kindergarten teacher, wife of 17 years, and stay at home mom to 3 precious boys (an 11 year old and 7 year old twins). My passion for baking began as a young girl helping alongside my mom in the kitchen. After taking on the role of "house wife" in 2006, I wanted to design all kinds of sweets to "wow" my husband, family, & friends. I completed a series of 4 Wilton classes where I learned how to create gorgeous edible designs out of buttercream, fondant, and royal icing. While the Wilton classes taught cake design, I wanted to learn how to make delicious & beautiful decorated cookies, so why not teach myself!? I read blogs, watched YouTube tutorials, and had lots of trial and error. After years of learning and practice, I've reached a point in my cookie creating career that I'm very proud of. To share my love of decorated cookies with others, I started The Pink Mixing Bowl. I feel very blessed to be able to stay home with our children and pursue my passion all at the same time!
I attended Cookie Con in March 2014 and had the opportunity to learn from some of the greatest cookie artists in the industry, such as: SweetAmbs, Oh Sugar Events, Chapix Cookies, Lilaloa, Flour Box Bakery, and The Painted Cookie.
When I'm not baking, I enjoy spending time with my family, dancing ballet & tap, working in my flower beds, and making crafts.
**The Pink Mixing Bowl operates under the Texas Cottage Food Law. State law requires me to let you know that I bake in a home kitchen that is not inspected by the Department of State Heath Services or a local health department. I can assure you that every possible care is taken to insure clean, sanitary conditions. I am current on my Texas Food Handlers Basic Food Safety and Voluntary Safe Food Handling Course for Cottage Food Operators. **
